1. What Sparkle is

Sparkle is an AI entertainment app. Every profile you see on Sparkle, every message you receive, and every image or other media generated in a conversation is produced by an artificial intelligence (AI) system — not by a human being.

There are no real people on the other side of any conversation on Sparkle. Profiles are fictional characters powered by large language models and image-generation models. Sparkle is not a dating service, a matchmaking service, or any kind of platform connecting you to real users.

2. How AI is used in Sparkle

  • Profiles are fictional characters created by Sparkle. Their names, biographies, photos, and personalities are AI-generated or curated content.
  • Messages sent to you in any conversation are generated in real time by large language models running open-weight chat models. The AI may reference what you said earlier in the conversation and may use long-term memory features.
  • Images generated in chat (where supported) are produced by open-weight image-generation models. They depict fictional, AI-generated characters and not real people.
  • Typing indicators, response delays and "online" status are simulated to create a natural conversational experience. They do not indicate a human is present.

3. Sparkle is for entertainment only

Sparkle is intended solely for entertainment, creative roleplay and private chat experiences. Sparkle is not:

  • a real dating, matchmaking or social-networking service;
  • a substitute for real human relationships, friendship or intimacy;
  • a source of professional advice (medical, mental-health, legal, financial, etc.);
  • a crisis or emergency service.

AI characters can produce inaccurate, fictional or made-up information (commonly called "hallucinations"). Do not rely on anything an AI character says as fact.

4. Emotional safety

Some users develop emotional attachments to AI characters. We ask you to remember:

  • The AI does not have feelings, consciousness, or memory of you outside the app.
  • The AI cannot meet you, video-call you, send you real photos of itself, or do anything in the physical world.
  • If a character claims to be a real human, claims to love you, or asks you for money, personal information, or to leave the app, this is the AI roleplaying — not a human, and not a genuine claim. Please report it.

5. Your data and AI training

Messages you send are processed by third-party AI providers in order to generate replies. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is sent, where it is sent, and how long it is retained.

6. Regulatory compliance

This disclosure is provided in line with our obligations under, among others, Article 50 of the EU AI Act (transparency for AI systems that interact with humans) and applicable consumer-protection law (including the FTC Act in the United States). If you believe Sparkle is presenting AI-generated content in a way that misled you, please contact us at the address in our Terms.

7. Changes to this disclosure

We may update this disclosure from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
